Italian Days for Schools brings a taste of Italy into the classroom, with fun, year- round activities.

Offering a cost-effective alternative to a school trip, they support the National Curriculum units for Geography, Science, Design & Technology and PSHCE as well as the International Schools Award.

Typical Activities

• Make and taste Italian food

• An all-year activity
• No additional teachers or helpers required
• Activities take between 2 sessions to a full day, depending on the number of children involved.

What’s provided?

All equipment and materials are provided, with activities taking place in the classroom and no need for additional teachers.

Italian Days for Schools are designed to fit in with your normal school day and to cause as little disruption as possible to the rest of the school. Providing the children with a range of activities, they will learn about Italian life and understand how their day-to-day life differs from school children in Italy.

Topics to choose from

• What it is like being a child in Italy? Learn about Italian School Uniforms, types of schools and traditional out-of-school activities such as growing grapes and lace making.

• Discovering Italian Food Learn about Italian fruits and vegetables, understand the Mediterranean diet and why it is good for you, taste different fruits and vegetables, Italian breads, oil and tomato sauce

• Make and taste Italian food (choice depends on age of children) Choose from tomato sauce, pizza, polenta, pasta. The children have fun both making and tasting it!

• Religious Festivals Learn how the Italians celebrate Christmas, Easter and Saints’ days.
